Why I’m applying for the Graduate diploma in education (primary)

I am an enthusiastic, energetic and creative young man, who has a positive outlook on life. I would love the opportunity to enroll into the Graduate diploma of education (primary). I have a passion in helping people discover new things and enhancing their natural gifts. I have been brought up in an extremely loving and nurturing environment; this includes being raised in a church community and an amazing family. This has given me further understanding in the benefits of having a community of caring mentors and passionate leaders.

 I have been described as having experience beyond my years, this is due to my experiences in being a youth leader and a drum tutor; I have undertaken work in various schools and churches particularly as a teachers aid and also through a music ministry team; leading chapels, events, activities, and teaching through drama, puppetry, music and discussions, for a period of eight years. My natural talents are rooted in the arts, including: painting, drawing, visual communication, and furniture making. My other abilities include information technology (both software and hardware knowledge, which also included practical application), remedial massage therapy (including a vast knowledge in anatomy and physiology / Health Science), and music (drum’s for twelve years, hand drumming for six years and guitar for three). I also have personal interests and knowledge in human development, religious education and physical education.

 I would love to pursue a career in primary teaching, which I believe will utilize my multi-talented nature and help further enhance my previously developed skills and knowledge. I am passionate about mentoring and establishing a willingness in people to learn new things. If selected, will demonstrate this by teaching in a stimulating, engaging and creative way. I also have a passion for the development and nurturing of intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional intelligence in others. I have always been a dedicated student and have excelled in many forms of studies and life experiences. I have completed a certificate IV in interior decoration, certificate III and IV in fitness (personal training), a diploma of remedial massage, and advance diploma of remedial massage (myotherapy), which is around four years of study. I also have ownership of my own business as a sole trader where I started in gardening and moved on to massage when I was fully qualified. I currently conduct drum lessons and occasionally do work in website design.

I feel confident that I will be an essential asset to the educational system, in bringing new and creative ideas, stemming from a variety of different specializations, knowledge and life experiences. I can also say with confidence that I would be honored to be accepted into a post Graduate diploma of education (primary).
